Making the stash a little lighter...

I have made a baby quilt out of reunion for a work colleague who knows she’s having a boy and has thankfully told everyone so there was to be no flowers or frills on this one.

I removed the flower patterns from the charm pack and used a pattern from Moda bake shop called Line Dance. It went together in a matter of hours and was very easy, one that I will make again!
It’s currently on the Gammill and I’m free motioning it with a large stipple and a Swirly thing (this is the technical term) in the small inner border still deciding on the strips down the centre of the quilt.
Having been long-arming solidly for the last few weeks I’ve been getting rather twitchy and I needed to get behind my Janome!
I dug into my stash and found this Tweet Tweet Jelly Roll I have had a couple of years now and decided to match that with Camille’s Jellybean Quilt Pattern.
I also removed a few of the brown strip and
replaced them with blue strips cut from some yardage...
Love the way it is going together... Here it only has I/2 the blocks together, but I put on the design wall so you could get a feeling for the finished product.
I have also dug out this, my Hoop Bag and decided I really should attempt the Hand Quilting on this again as I really want to finish this project.

After pulling out my last attempt I have started again.
I am now armed with Tiger Tape so that should (hopefully) make it all better...

Hexagon Park Quilted...

I realised that I neglected to share photos of Hexagon Park when I finished the Quilt top...
so I thought I might as well leave it until the Quilting was finished...

The pattern is from Moda Bake Shop.
I changed the Border because I wanted to use the solid for the backing and binding as well and didn't Quite have enough to do everything, so I pulled out some Grey Hometown Fat Quarters I had bought for my Stash and made a scrappy border.
I Quilted it with a cute curl pattern, nice and easy!

I have attached the binding and I'm planning on finishing that today.

I have even remembered to put a Label on the Quilt,
wonders will never cease!

It's funny how all the Quilts I have made with Sweetwater's Fabric designs turn out to be among my Favourites!

Folded Fabric Quilt....

I have been working on some UFO'S that have been
 pushed aside for other things
The First is My Hunky Dory quilt with the folded flowers. This was from a Moda Bake Shop Pattern but as usual I changed it...
I have alternated a folded square with a plain layer cake square
The Second is my New Wave Quilt...
I did a Large Loopy pattern all over...

Now I'm off to trace the Second Birdie Block, It's so cute!
Head over to Little Miss Shabbys Blog, you will want to join in if you haven't already!

Happy 2011...

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season, I know I did!

I feel invigorated to create and have been happily doing so...

Starting with Little Miss Shabby's Birdie stitchery block of the month.
I have decided to use  a Central Park Jelly Roll
for the 2.5" squares and will strip piece them.
These are my DMC Colours....
I have also cut into my Sherbet Pips Layer Cake...
I Love this line it's sooo cute...

Grand Plan

A while ago I shared with you my Folded star blocks from MBS. No offence to the designer but I have decided that I no longer want to put the sashings between the blocks, Everyone seems to be using white and cream on all Quilts lately and  I think I want to buck the Trend.
I love 'busy' Quilts, there's always something new to find!
So I purchased another Hunky Dory Layer Cake and I am now in the process of Alternating Folded Star Blocks and Plain Blocks, Hunky Dory seems to lend itself to large blocks as it has landscape fabric in the Range.
The Quilt will be 8 x 8  and the blocks are squared to 9.5" so it will be a good couch throw.
Blogger is not loving me at the moment and will not load photos :(
I will when Blogger lets me!

Folded Fabric

When I woke this morning the first thing I thought was, I am spending the day doing something for me!
One Hunky Dory Layer Cake later I have started the Folded Star Quilt on Moda Bake Shop.

They are so much fun and really easy!
