How are you spending your last day of 2011?

Me, I'm spending it with Kate Spain...

well not personally but with her gorgeous Fabric 'Terrain'.

This is definitely my Favourite of 2011 closely
 followed by 'Sunkissed' by Sweetwater.

What was your favourite fabric of 2011?

I thought I would share the pattern I'm using in a different way today, for everyone that has never seen or used a long arm quilter before...
This is what is known as a Pantograph.
I use a laser light on the side of the machine
to follow the pattern. This one is called Entwine.

I Hope everyone has a fabulous New Year's Eve tonight,
Please stay safe and I will see you in 2012!

No more Xmas Requests!!!!!!

A lady I work with asked me this week if I could make a Baby Quilt for her new Granddaughter, after I said yes I realised that she wants to give it to her for Christmas, Yikes...

We worked out a size; it was going to be a Bassinet size.

Ok I can do that, Still 3 weeks to go.

The next day she asked could I make it larger as she would like it to go to her first bed as well, Bugger.

So I have made a large cot size quilt and this is the design I have come up with...

The Brief was: pink and mauve and something girlie!

Well I had this fabric in my stash called
Where the Wind Blows by Melanie from Melly and Me .

Perfect!!!

Then I went online to order backing at Under the Mulberry Tree and found that they have it on special for $2 a fat quarter, $8 a Metre.

Awesome!!!!!

So I ordered a Backing, and some more Fat Quarters to put back in the stash, for the next baby quilt I make.

Now I just have to Finish the Quilt that's loaded on The Gammill, load this one, Quilt and Bind it , all in two weeks, whilst working the two busiest weeks for the whole year...

I’m Tired just thinking about it...

Getting Quilts Ready for Christmas...

I have been super busy, that’s why I haven’t blogged for a while!

I have quilted this Huge Quilt for a customer who is giving this to her granddaughter for Christmas, I only have to attach the binding for her and it’s ready to go.

This is a Baby Quilt that I have been commissioned to make, the baby is due 25th December...

There’s nothing like a few time challenges to get you going!
