I would like to make a Roman Square quilt. I am new to quilting. I am finishing the final piecing square on my first quilt. I think about quilting all the time now. Everwhere I look, I see quilt block or patterns. I even drew an idea for a quilt during a staff meeting at work. I am looking forward to learning different techniques and styles.

I would pull some of the fabrics to use in a hexagon quilt..not the traditional hexes, but a quiltalong that was done last year...I just loved it. I bought the ruler and am gathering the fabrics...a few of these will fit just right. I haven't made a quilt for myself yet, so I have a queen size one in mind...

This jelly roll is super cute! I want to make a new baby quilt for my new baby, arriving this summer. I have a new book called Simply Jelly Rolls and there is a butterfly wall hanging/small blanket pattern in there that I'm dying to make. This rolls seems to be easily boy or girl.

I've never worked with a jelly roll before so I'm not sure what I'd make for sure. I keep meaning to make a strip quilt so that would be the obvious choice. But I'd probably end up searching on flickr and the www. to find a great jelly roll quilt pattern so I could make a lap quilt out of it. I would be great to be able to use the whole thing in one project - rather than lots of different ones.

Happy Anniversary!

I would use that yummy jelly roll to make a zig zag without triangles quilt (Amanda Jean's pattern)

There are two BOM stitch-a-longs with pieced blocks (LMS Birdie and Gum Tree Designers) and think that this jelly roll would be perfect. The colors are just great as is the size. Plus, I *heart* Sweetwater. btw I was checking out your hexie recipe over at the Moda Bake Shop and decided to read your blog first because I'm enamored with hexagons. Surprise, your generous giveaway. Thanks! alternate email mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com

MrsShilts said...

ohh how would I use the jelly roll....well, i'd try to decide on a quilt pattern that I love (there are so many out there that I want to try!) I'd probably try and make a starburst quilt as the colours in the jelly roll are so beautiful i'd love to show them off and try my hand at piecing the blocks together..

Ann Marie @ 16 Muddy Feet said...

I am a follower, wow, what would I do with that jelly roll. That would be a hard decision. I would first have to lay it all out and let the fabrics talk to me. The fabrics always tell me what they want done with them.

Oops-Lah said...

I just won a book with patterns for jelly rolls. So I most probably would make one of those projects with it. Congratulations to your bog anniversary! Keep up the good work.
