Grand Plan

A while ago I shared with you my Folded star blocks from MBS. No offence to the designer but I have decided that I no longer want to put the sashings between the blocks, Everyone seems to be using white and cream on all Quilts lately and  I think I want to buck the Trend.
I love 'busy' Quilts, there's always something new to find!
So I purchased another Hunky Dory Layer Cake and I am now in the process of Alternating Folded Star Blocks and Plain Blocks, Hunky Dory seems to lend itself to large blocks as it has landscape fabric in the Range.
The Quilt will be 8 x 8  and the blocks are squared to 9.5" so it will be a good couch throw.
Blogger is not loving me at the moment and will not load photos :(
I will when Blogger lets me!

Road Trip!

Where I live we have been in Drought for the last 12 Years.
On the Front Page of our Local paper it had the words Floodgates are Open, Now this doens't mean that we are no longer in a drought but the signs are good.
We took a Road trip to Laanecoorie Reservoir to see it spilling over for the first time in 11 years.
Lots of locals from  around the area had the same idea, A steady stream of 'tourists'  doing the same as us!
On the way home we went to another water storage close by and this one is not so full.
Cairn Curran Reservior got to the stage it was basically dry, now it looks like this......
Hopefully the Rain will continue to Fall..........

It's a Start!

Each evening I sit and do a few Hexagons, They are great to do while watching TV.
(No Concentration needed)

When they reached the top of the box,
I counted them and have done just over 300.
To my dismay when you lay them out it doesn't seem much.

Only about 800 to go,Lucky I really enjoy doing them!
