Going Viral.............

If you are on Instagram then you will already be familiar with the #scrappytripalong that has gone totally viral in the last few days! I finally reneged and joined in the fun. I used a Boho Jelly Roll by Urban Chiks.
The Jelly roll only makes 12 Blocks which makes it a perfect Baby Quilt.
It went together in a matter of hours.
I timed the blocks and they took 25 minutes each to make.

My next project is
On a Whim by Camille Roskelly

I only have another 16 blocks to go on this one,
these take slightly longer tan 25mins...lol

Fabric is The Birds and The Bees by Tula Pink
The grey fabric is a Ruby, which I think frames the fabrics wonderfully.
The solid is Bella Solids in Feather.
I have also been working on a project from Sarah Fielke's Craftsy Class. She explains Needleturn Applique in simple terms and it's been lots of Fun!

The First Customer Quilt for 2013 is loaded on the Gammill...

My New Year’s resolution should have been to blog more, so hopefully now that I have had a break things will get back to normal. I have also realised that you cannot do everything, so I’m trying to slow down and enjoy the roses so to speak!
I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful Festive season! I hold out a lot of hopes that 2013 will be a good year, fingers crossed that I’m right!

Things happen for a reason.....

I have finally finished the Tailfeathers Quilt I have been Custom Quilting! This is my Mothers Quilt which she has done an amazing job on!
I had to get this one 'right' as Kelli my SIL had her Tailfeathers Quilted by the Amazing Angela Walters!

No Pressure at all...lol

Mum didn’t want her stitchery’s quilted on as she wants to hand quilt around them to give them a softer look.
I free motioned the rest of the quilt,
 those 1” squares were fabulous
to quilt by the way, found muscles
in my shoulders I didn’t know I had...ha-ha

Best of all she loves what I have done!
I have seemed to lose my Quilt mojo for the last few weeks that was until this morning when I commented on a post on Instagram to @anthrpienthesky about doing a quilt along using this pattern.

I knew if I made a comment that I would make the quilt, one in my growing list of to-do's
So Tiffany and I have set off on a small adventure together!
If you want to make the quilt then you can join in as well, Instamessage me and join the fun!

I decided to cut up my “Sugar” by Art Gallery that I have been coveting for about 4 years, and I already love my Decision!
Yay! I love the Excitement of a new Quilt!

Next weekend I have signed up for a Blogger's
get-together in Ballan,Info here.
Excited already!

Hexagon zippered pouch....

As promised here is my project with the Ticklish mini charm squares...

I made a zippered pouch, sort of like a large pencil case and I’m totally in Love with it.
It’s big enough to put all my sewing essentials when on the move and they are secure!
I have been using a pouch with a button enclosure and am always worried that my gorgeous little travel scissors will fall out...

This is a piece I’m working on at the moment and I’m so enjoying it. I have a few different stitcheries on the go but love this one due to the fact that there is only one colour.

It’s part of Rosalie Quinlan’s Scandinavian Rose BOM. I fell in love with this one block and decided to do a cushion instead!

Daylesford 3rd year running and still loving it...

Last Saturday I went to Daylesford Craft Experience at Pepper's Resort in Hepburn Springs.

Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches and Jodie Carlton of Ric Rac were the Designers for the weekend.

Jodie did gorgeous little robots for the day

Natalie did some stitchery’s to make into a tote bag, needle case and canvas for the wall.

Natalie brought along her BOM Quilt Tail feathers for us to look at, its’ so nice to see the original!

Mum has made one and it is sitting waiting to be quilted at the moment; aah must get time to do that!

.

This is my first finish from the weekend. The baby yellow robot, His is a little “special” in places but I’m using him as a pincushion so you won’t know when he is covered in pins...lol

I have been having periods of A.D.D lately and cannot settle with one project so I’m managing to do a little to a lot of UFO’s , if you follow me on Instagram this will totally make sense!

One finish I have done is my Vintage Modern Piece of Cake 3 quilt top; it’s ready to quilt...
Really happy with this one...

Quilting Retreat...

Last weekend, I and six friends went to Alexandra for a Quilt extravaganza!
OK not quite an extravaganza but we sure had fun!

The Vickery is a house set up especially for Quilting Retreats (girls fun).
My sweet Garden Quilt kept me toasty (plus a Doona and another Quilt of mine) on the freezing cold nights,I even made my own matching pillowcase out of Ruby...I know it's sad!

We all bought a jellyroll along and made a 1600 Quilt, One quilt pattern I will go back too when I need a Quilt in a hurry. Apparently someone pieced this quilt in 36 minutes, they must have had a rocket up there bum coz we took probably closer to 90 minutes.

All quilts turned out magnificently but alas we all packed up in such a hurry we never got to the photo of them all together. Here are 3 of them...
Simply Color by V & Co.

Reunion by Sweetwater

Juggling Summer by Zen Chic

I Came home totally knackered that why it’s taken me a week to tell you all about it!

Can you spot our mascot, his name is Vincent.

This is Claire's Birds and the Bees Quilt, Love!

Thanks Girls for a Fabulous Weekend of sewing, chatting, and most important laughing!!!

Best thing is we will do it all again in a couple of months!!!!!
