I have a Crush...

I finally have my hands on some Tula Pink The Birds and the Bees Fabric.

 Tula is definitely one of my favourite designers.

Love that her ranges have lots of 'critters' in them...

Some are hidden amongst other objects...

 As you can see I have a ‘little’ stash of Tula but now that I have a nice selection I think I might use all three ranges in the one Quilt. I adore the Dream Weaver Quilt in Tula’s book if you are unsure of the quilt here it is courtesy of Emma at Ballarat Patchwork

I have finished another Quilt, binding on just the hand sewing to go....

I will be spending the rest of the day on the couch with a needle in hand.

Life is good!

Today is all about instant gratification!

I opened my V & co. Jelly roll and started a Fence and Rail Quilt pattern.

I have half the blocks on my design wall to give you an idea of the finished product!

The blocks are 10.5" Square and set out will be 5 x 6.
Sorry for the short post but I want to get back to the machine!

Binding a pain in my....

As most of you would know I dislike binding, well that’s not quite the case, Binding doesn’t like me...Well what I mean is that I can only do it in very short bursts because my hands ache sooooo much they start to lock up...

 I hear you say sew your binding down with the machine, I’ve tried it, hated the finish and went back to hand sewing...

Anyway I have bought these Wonder Clips by Clover, And they arrived on Thursday and eagerly I put them on the current binding project I had.
All I can say is I Love them.
 I attached them and got through ½ a Quilt in no time at all and ache free! Yay!!!

So if you are wondering if they are any good give them a go, I know they are expense but they are worth it if you have the problems I did...

Fast forward to this morning... I have attached 2 bindings
 on two Quilts you will have seen before.
Firstly here is a Quilt a made years ago but have never attached the binding, I had it cut and just never got to it.
Well that’s now attached ready for the hand sewing.

The second quilt is my Swoon.

 I’m still plodding along with hand quilting the blocks but I’m happy to have the binding on, hopefully it will spur me along to finish... I had forgotten how much I love this Quilt!

I made another baby quilt yesterday, not a bad effort started at 10am then sat down at 3pm to start hand sewing the binding.

It's been a very Quilty Weekend... Just the way I like it!

Another finish...

This is my not so little Reunion Quilt.

 It has turned out larger than I expected but I love the size. Perfect for taking in the car or if you just want something to go over your knees.

As for the Quilting I did a stipple, large figure eight in the small borders and crosses in the centre blocks.

Backing was an American Jane fabric I bought cheap,

 but it matches beautifully.

 The binding is Vintage Modern love the red polka dot!

Love my Ladybug Quilting Labels...

These 2 beauties have arrived recently and I love both of them... Elizabeth’s book is fantastic, I have picked out a number of Projects to make already, and I’ve even bought the Templates from Tabslot on Etsy!

I have finished piecing my Jellybean Quilt made from a Tweet Tweet Jelly Roll, I'm going to use a thin wadding and this will be used as a tablecoth after it has been Quilted.

Making the stash a little lighter...

I have made a baby quilt out of reunion for a work colleague who knows she’s having a boy and has thankfully told everyone so there was to be no flowers or frills on this one.

I removed the flower patterns from the charm pack and used a pattern from Moda bake shop called Line Dance. It went together in a matter of hours and was very easy, one that I will make again!

It’s currently on the Gammill and I’m free motioning it with a large stipple and a Swirly thing (this is the technical term) in the small inner border still deciding on the strips down the centre of the quilt.
Having been long-arming solidly for the last few weeks I’ve been getting rather twitchy and I needed to get behind my Janome!

I dug into my stash and found this Tweet Tweet Jelly Roll I have had a couple of years now and decided to match that with Camille’s Jellybean Quilt Pattern.
I also removed a few of the brown strip and
 replaced them with blue strips cut from some yardage...

Love the way it is going together... Here it only has I/2 the blocks together, but I put on the design wall so you could get a feeling for the finished product.
I have also dug out this, my Hoop Bag and decided I really should attempt the Hand Quilting on this again as I really want to finish this project.

 After pulling out my last attempt I have started again.
 I am now armed with Tiger Tape so that should (hopefully) make it all better...

Spring 2012 Bloggers Quilt Festival

This is my entry for this Spring 2012 Bloggers Quilt Festival. Now with all the talk of quilt market the last few weeks you would think I would be ready for the festival... ha not the case.

I found myself yesterday not wanting to reblog any of my Quilts so I loaded my skittles Quilt on to the Gammill and free motion quilted it.

I love this clam shell pattern....

The skittles I wanted to leave fairly plain so you get a definite contrast...

I dug the ruler out which I haven’t used in a while

and quilted lines 1/4 inch in on all skittles....

This is a photo of the backing which gives a better view of what I have done.

Binding is attached, but not sewn down. I know that it isn’t technically finished but my super-woman cape is in the drycleaners and I won’t get it back until next week... so this will have to do.

I need the sun to come out...

Today has been a very quilty day. My Gammill was empty this morning so I took the opportunity to put one of my quilts on...


This is currently my Favourite fabric, it's such a pity every time I want to photograph this quilt the sun is nowhere to be seen. It is seriously vibrant and at the next opportunity I will show you what I’m talking about...

This is the backing fabric and is the best cheater fabric I have ever seen, normally I wouldn’t go near a cheater, actually I would totally avoid like the plague!

Check out the gorgeous selvages...

I quilted it in a pattern called bluster, and have used the cheater as the binding, couldn’t resist the scrappiness of it...

I’ve also got a Good Fortune charm pack and I’m doing some hexagons, wanting to do a pillow for the couch.
